Are iPad's Limitations Design Decisions?

This guy suggests that many of the iPad's so-called limitations are deliberate design decisions made to ensure that the future of computing is not weighed down by issues from the past.

  1. Interesting take. I've read two schools of thought on Flash and Apple. One (your guy) says it's a design elegance" decision. The other (Slate http://www.slate.com/id/2243422/) says it's a market battle (Jobs wants to own the streaming media universe). Jobs is brilliant, but he's a megalomaniac. I suspect there's some of both in these decisions...jr
